AMEN SISTER! ha ha! I agree that everyone's features are hated by one and loved by another...You've got to get over the "oh no, I have pale skin when it should be tan" thing (just as an example). We are all different and gorgeous in different ways!

Just be healthy and confident in your looks and people will follow!

thank you for posting this. for people like myself who have beat themselves up their entire lives, it won't happen over night. being mean to ourselves has become a habit, like a default reaction. but it's something I personally really am striving to achieve one day. I hate how worked up I get over something as trivial as my appearance. But I make sure that until I can stop the negative thoughts, that I at least keep them to myself. Because I know whenever my friends or family talk about their insecurities I end up feeling more insecure, myself. I hope this helps people realize that when they say bad things about themselves, it doesn't just bring themselves down, but others as well. If we could only be nicer to ourselves, no one would have to be brought down over this at all. I know it's a cheesy thing to say, but we shouldn't feel bad about simply being ourselves.

I totally agree with you!! People need to be happy with themselves. The grass always seems greener on the other side!! A skinny flat chested girl may want to be like the curvy busty girl, and the curvy busty girl may want to be lie the skinny flat chested girl!! GOD made us to be beautiful in our own way!! =]

Great post! Everyone is beautiful in their own way, we should all let it shine instead of being ashamed of 'uglyness' that's only in your eyes and not truly there. Once you see yourself as beautiful, everyone else will think your beautiful too!

This is the first time I've seen this post, I believe. I wanted to give everyone a piece of advice that my father has shared with me. Because I am such a self-conscious person about myself, etc... (I'll have to clean up the words for here), he said to me because I worry a lot about what people think of me:

Don't give a crap about what other people think. Their opinions do not matter at all.

I've had several local friends say that too. I am me and if you don't like me for who I am, that's your problem, not mine.

I'm one of the morbidly obese and pale-skinned ladies in this world that also has social anxiety; although I have lost 11 inches and can actually smile at myself now that I have seen a difference. And at swing dancing, I am finally able to go there and not worry any longer about what people think. EDIT: I do not worry about tanning or looking tan because years ago, I received 2nd degree burns sitting at a garage sale on a cloudy day. I would rather be pale-skinned and blind everyone than suffer skin cancer.

I am also very excited too because I bought a beautiful new outfit to wear to swing dancing tomorrow night that only cost $20.00 for both the pants and top at Fashion Bug Plus because I am worth it and I am worth wearing makeup too if I want.
