Here is a photo of us from our first game of the year. We cheer for North Sydney and they play rugby league. It was so hot today and we danced before/after or during each of the four games that were on, as well as cheering for the last two games. So much dancing and so sore feet!! I need a way to make sure my boots don't kill my feet next time!! They just have no cushioning!!

Those boots look SO painful. I'm guessing you probably don't do stunting or a whole lot of jumping- you guys would kill yourselves in those! Give me regular cheering tennies any day.

Wow! Interesting uniforms. I agree, those boots look ouchie!

I didn't know NRL cheerleaders had started adding stunts into routines, If your coach ever needs some new skills, or help with stunting, give me a yell I live in Mudgee and coach 2 high school competetive cheer teams, and travel to Sydney frequesntly, however if you want to do more stunts, you will need to lose the boots.

How old are you guys and where are you from...?

its kinda funny to see other places evolve to the typical/ todays american cheerleading look...meaning uniforms and poms!

Thanks for your comments everyone. I'm still loving cheerleading. We've danced at another 4 games since this photo was taken! We are also starting to focus on our competition routines as our first comp is the first weekend in July.

For those of you who say you 'can't find the fat one' (LOL) I'm the second from the left (the blonde with the short hair)!

We had photos done last weekend, so when I get around to it, I'll post them. We haven't got our competition costume... but I'll post a pic of that when we have it

Hey, so you are competing at the international comp as in the Down under Spirit Challenge, I'll be there, not competing, but prob helping out with marshalling or something.

Are you guys doing stunts for it, or just dance? What division are you in?

they don't tumble or stunt. end of story.

And how exactly can you tell that we don't tumble and stunt from those photos. Yes, we wear knee high boots, but that doesn't stop us from doing backflips, cartwheels etc or doing lifts during routines. We just have to work harder to stick them when we are wearing the boots rather than our dance shoes. No we don't throw people around in the air... we save that for our COMPETITION routines. Just because we don't tumble or stunt at a game does not mean anything. We are competing in 4 competitions this year that require us to do tumbling and stunting.

SO next time, before you make a generalisation like you did, think about what you are going to say and try not to be so narrow-minded!

so what kind of tumbling do you do then? a cartwheel isn't really tumbling, unless you're 3.

no, i just care about the reputation of cheerleading and i treat it as a sport. so i'm insulted when people who just dance around in skimpy outfits and boots, but can't actually stunt or tumble (which is what makes cheerleading a sport) want to call themselves cheerleaders. honestly it's an insult to people like me and those on my squad and the squads we compete against because we put time into tumbling and stunting. maybe you should check out whatisprox.com

^ yes i get where you are coming from! but the point i was making is that you do not know all the facts for this squad so therefore cannot realy make accusations! Yes they wear this at times, but maybe at comps they wear something different and do stunts and tumbles! Just get all your facts straight first!

(And, by the way, I think MOST people would agree with YOU that back flips are tumbling...and then some in HEELS!!! I'd have to tape my ankles so much to keep them from rolling that they would look like the size of my huge brother's!!! LOL! I don't know how you all do it!!)

my daughter teaches cheerleading in uk and they are not allowed to do stunts so does that mean that her cheerleading team is Not a cheerleading team, i will have to tell the girls on thursday nite, by the way they have the nationals comming up in june there first comp

hi we are quite new to this, so can i ask why some people are so negative, as this site is mainly for teens and kids they would be quite offended by some of the comments, i am a mum and have got a very thick skin, so why dont you encourage them and not critise them so harshly
