Hello all!!

I've just found out that GrishkoGirl has pulled from the Re-Elections, meaning that I have become the DNBT (Dance Net Ballet Theatre) head. I'd like to get started as soon as possible, so I've got some information and a signup.

What is DNBT?

DNBT is a virtual ballet company. We create entirely virtual ballet performances and post them in the virtual stage room.

Who runs DNBT? What makes this all possible? What goes into the process of a show?

Currently, the DNBT is run by myself, as we've only had reelections for the head. However, in order to create a performance, we need lots of people to help!! We need people to comb through image sites (always giving credit to the sources, of course!) to find us costumes and scenery for performances. We need choreographers, to create our dances. We need dancers, of course, who are willing to find all the "rehearsal" posts and keep this forum active.

If you want to have a job in the DNBT, we will create posts, asking for help with choeo, costumes, set, etc. IF YOU WANT TO CHOREOGRAPH, REMEMBER THIS: We love you. A lot. In fact, we want to be your best friend. Pas de deux choreographers are especially appreciated and prized.

The process is a very long one. It generally begins with an information/signup post, such as this one. Once people have signed up, we ask for suggestions for a ballet. Next, a poll is taken and we decide on a ballet. We then post a cast list, and people tell us what parts they'd like. We cast members according to activity, not necessarily skill, as the whole process is virtual. We then have our volunteer choreographers create the dances for us. Our set and costume designers show us what they've found. All the choreography, cast, set, and costumes are posted in one giant performance thread in the stage room! Voila, we have performed! And thus, the process has to start all... over... again.

I've learned several full length pas de deuxes, am in advanced pas classes, and do ongoing work with several practice partners. (My classmates whisper "He looks like a three-legged chicken in ballet class, but boy can he partner..." )

Anything else? I'll do pas de deux choreography. My teachers have always done it, but I think I have enough experience to do some myself. I can't do any other kind of choreography.
