I wanted to know how everyone here teaches balance in Baby Combo/Creative Movement Dance Classes. I do perform Passes
center floor but I want to work on balance across the dance floor also. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I do something in my creative movement class to a song by Greg and Steve Kids in Motion C.D. called the beeneie bag dance. They have to balance a been bag where ever the C.D. tells them to. Also at the end of each time they tell you to balance it some where they ask the kids to sing where doing the beenie bag dance. It is so cute, the kids love it and it totally helps their balance. Hope this helps you out. The c.d. is definetly worth it.

My kids lovethose Greg and Steve bean bag songs! I use that, and I also have foam balance beams that sit right on the floor. We play "going across the bridge" - I use different activities like just walking, slide sideways (chasses, sort of), giant steps, tiptoe - stuff like that. Then they take a big jump off the bridge (all 1" of it!). For the older ones, we also walk backwards. Hope that helps.
