Everybody has their own ideas as to what makes a successful fundraiser. I've listed my ideas below.

CAR WASH
1. SUNBLOCK!
2. More SUNBLOCK
3. A bunch of giggly girls and some wacked out parents
4. Sunshine
5. More time in the day to get all the cars through (I thought they would never stop coming)

Okay seriously:
You need to plan early for whatever fundraiser you are going to do. We beat the football players out by one week!

Advertise in advance as much as possible. Make sure all your school buddies know about it. Make them commit.

Follow up if you can with a news release. Let the community know you are looking for fundraisers. We get new fundraisers that way. It's good PR for your school too.

We also sell our high school logo printed onto a heavy blanket for games. They are our most expensive fund raiser, but the blankets last forever, and it's great memoriablia.

We also wash windows at our local hosptial (outside)

Consession stands have to be shared at our school, other clubs and organizations have to sign up when they want it. So get your dates in early!

We also do a junior drill for the little kids which is a really big fundraiser for us. We preform that during half time at one of our football games.

The number one point I can think of for a successful fundraiser is Have Fun!

We thought about selling wrist bands, but no one wants to be sacked with 5000 bands left over. You have to buy things in bulk. Keep that in mind when you order things.

Have Fun!
I'd love to hear your ideas.

I recently finished two fundraisers (in a two week period! it was a nightmare) and everyone is sick of buying cookie dough. I sold candles as well, but they were way too expensive.

I think a carwash or silent auction are great ideas for fundraising. It's a lot better than selling cookie dough and candles, that's for sure. :D
