UCO On page 1 you said:
"No, unfortunately I don't. If you're trying to say that that's not me though, I do have other pictures from practice. So yes, that's me. I'm not stealing someone else's picture. I do have a link to a picture of my pike at nationals this year. Technically there is one of my toe touch, but the guy caught it when i'm almost all the way down already."
I wasn't saying that was not you!!! Geez...I just wanted to quietly see if your's was the same in competition because mine are usually lower in competition than in just practice...and no, thank you anyway, I'm not asking for your advice. |

you must not have been watching the cheerleading worlds very carefully, because there are TONS of toe touches that are hyper extended. in all-star it's all about being flashy and head over heels better than everyone else, not about being "pretty". hyper-extended jumps are what they look for. if it wasn't what they're looking for, why in the world would that toe touch in the picture i posted win EVERY individual jump competition i've ever entered in my entire life?? and i'm not bragging before you jump all over my back, just proving that that's what the judges are looking for. |

ahhh, the old "Rome wasn't built in a day" speech... stolen! hehe
I see you've gone from a "fool" to a "Babe" Katie.. is that the reinvention of Katie? haha.
Anywho, ya'll don't mind Katie. She's really cocky, but if you look past all the cocky stuff in her posts, she does give good advise. She knows what she's talking about. Although, I'm not making any connection on how she would be considered "spoiled" or even a "spoiled brat"? That has nothing to do with how good of a cheerleader you are. |

Hi Dancers_Rock,
Do you have a picture of that kind of toe touch? I'm interested to see because I did not know the legs could rotate that way.

Your welcome. I think she was just referring to them showing more flexibility. I work for a dances studio too and that is what they prefer.
The second one has some major hyperextended knees! |

nickles - i wouldn't say "rock hard" abs haha but i do have a mini 6 pack
cheercat610 - as i've already told SO many people on here, there are no special exercises. basically all i do is jump, and jump HARD every time. i never slack on my jumps, no matter how tired i am, and i think that's the secret. a lot of people tend to slack off it they're not performing ("oh i'm just at practice and no one is watching me"). but you have to jump as hard as you can all the time. i jump hard at practice, games, even if i'm just messing around! and that builds your muscles over time. and it won't happen in a week. my jumps started low just like everyone else's and i worked my butt off and they gradually got like that. if you want me to send you pictures, i've got three of them over a two year period. you can see the improvements. no one starts out with jumps above their heads!
amy - haha yeah i don't know why i changed to "babe" but oh well. now i kinda wish i had "fool" back but it would be silly to make a whole new one! oh and i am cocky, but in a joking way. it's all about the attitude! that's the NCA world! you wanna talk ACTAULLY cocky... that's Tye Hill. haha |

hahaha! "the katie" jumping doll! that reminds me of this weird Gymnast Barbie i got not the last summer Olympics, but the one before it. it was really strange and moved really funny. they made her do all these double backs and stuff on the commercials and i was like "OMG HOW COOL!" (i was young remember! haha) and then i got her... and she sucked. lol i think i played with it like twice. i wasn't much of a Barbie girl anyway... i liked stuffed animals and littlest pet shop! hahaha meeeemories |

Hi!
Your toe touch is amazing! How did you get it that over extended? I'v been working on that for ages but I don't seem to get my legs any higher. That is truly awsome and I hope to be able to do that one day.
And to Dancers_Rock: Its not possible to jump overextended the way you tell us you jump, and its actually very bad for your hips. UCOtwistinBABE's toe touch is actually done the correct way, so please don't say its all wrong just because you like to do it a diffrent way. I'v been doing cheerleading for 6-7 years now and I have allways been told to lift the legs up, and not to the side.
Anyways, great jump, please keep posting! |

just do them a lot! practice makes perfect. and never ever slack on your jumps, no matter how tired you are. it may be the end of practice and you're so tired and ready to go home already, but you have to jump as hard as you possibly can, because even if they aren't that high while you're tired, as long as you're jumping as hard as you can, you're building muscles. that way when you're not as tired, your jumps will be better. try doing at least 10 jumps every day. oh and don't jump without shoes on! |
