CA doesn't have a problem with Matt cheering on Gym Tyme open. he cheers for Louisville and it makes much more sense for him to be on Gym Tyme open instead of driving or flying ALL the way back to CA. it's practically tradition that the majority of GT open cheerleaders are from Louisville. CA pretty much knew he'd be doing open with them.

and and to the girl who said it wasn't impressive. are you crazy? his jumps and tumbling are the reason he is one of the most well known and respected cheerleaders in the business!

This jump is amazing! It's hard to believe that people can actually jump like that! I am just now starting out and my goal is to look like that, except you know a girl haha...anyways GREAT PICTURE!

Not to sound mean but you must not know a lot about cheerathletics! They are all about winning and he was a big key to their winning...look he left this year and gym tyme won and ca lost! They are very much into the winning thing...when Matt was cheering for his frist team Trojan Cheer Company cheerathletics paid for him to go out of town with them to cheer with their team at a nationals that the Trojans were cheering for...when I left CA to go to Spirit NO ONE at the gym would talk to me any more it was like I had comitted some kind of crime even though Spirit was two hours closer to me!

And I don't think the diva is saying it is all about being flexable...she is just saying that is a plus for him...he has everything a cheerleader should have. He has great jumps, great tumbling, great dancing, and great stunting!!

actually i do... Logan cheered on CA Coed Open (front center in the MC Hammer Dance) and he's still friends with Matt. It's open. i know it's still serious, but not as serious as the rest of the squads. i partied with about half of the CA open squads at the Pro X party later that night... they weren't angry.

Yes, he is an amazing athlete. He helped choreograph our routine for this year when we went down to Kentukcy. He is a really nice guy, and I was wondering when he would finally pop up in one of these message deals. I saw his toe-touch first hand, and let me just say that no normal cheerleader could do that, or throw a standing full cold turkey. I miss him, he is so awesome, and if you ever get the chance to talk to him, take it, you'll love him!

I think the girls jumps are nice, because their LEGS ARE IN A WIDER STRADDEL(sp?) But the boys jumps are the BEST and Matt is so AWESOME! :]

maybe it's just cause i'm a gymnast, and from Canada where our cheer isn't quite as evolved as that in the states, but i personally think toe touches look better, not quite that hyper-extended....
not that i'm saying his are bad, they're amazing, but i think you still need to see the straddle, or at least more of a straddle...
i think it kinda looks like his legs are moving more towards a pike than staying in a straddle.. in my opinion

but it's still a great jump

here we've had those pretty toe touches for so long that the more flashy style is in (not just jumps, everything!) here and the bigger, the better. that's what they want at the big nationals here. :)

i'm sure it took loooots of practice, not to mention Matt's got natural talent. that helps. but trust me, anyone can have amazing jumps, it just takes busting your butt to get there.

Ok let me say to the canadian, I think what you have to know about his jumps and all other hyper extended jumps is we do show a straddle, not a pike, you must remember this is a frozen image. his jump went all the way through the straddle, rolled the hips and hyper extended them, then back down through the straddle. I guess you just need to see the whole thing to truelly understand. Yeah Matt is cool, I cheered with him on staff and he is a real cool laid back guy, with a whole lot of talent. His standing double full was the best I had ever seen though.

thank you megamonkeyboy!!! good point about it going through the straddle on the way up and back down. it's so true. i don't understand why everyone is being so critical about his jump. it's one of the most amazing i've ever seen. i think some people just don't know enough about real cheerleading and the strength, hard work and technique that goes into a toe touch like his!

I like hyperextended...don't get me wrong. But I don't know, I just think this is a little wierd looking. Not saying he's not a great jumper, but that's just my opinion.

well it probably wouldn't look as weird if you saw it in real life, not stopping in the middle of it.

That is such and AMAZING toe touch, now that's what I call skill!

But, no offence to him, I prefer the look of yours better, Kaie!
