Do you go to USA or UDA competitions? How about to their nationals? There are many divisions and usually teams dont win every division they compete in. |

I think it depends on what type of competitions you are looking for. There are some geared toward the dance/drill team, and some geared strictly for dance (which are primarily attended by dance studios).
At my daughter's school - the dance/drill team competes at the IDTA (Illinois Drill Team Assoc.) regionals and state finals. These are considered tougher than the dance/drill competitions such as NCA, UDA and such (at least by my daughter's friends on the drill team!)
The Orchesis team at my daughter's school is new - and doesn't compete yet, but they've talked about it. They would probably compete at a regular dance competition like their studios do (i.e., Showstoppers, DanceAmerica/DanceOlympus, etc.). |

yea, other than national comps. i don't know what to suggest in the way of comps, accept state, or regionals. UDA Nationals is highly competetive, I've also been to NDA though and it was nothing comparred to the level at UDA, but it was lots of fun. What's a AAA team, ?3A? Our team competes 4A(my first year we competed 5A)If you are a 3A team UDA would probably be too difficult for your team, NDA may be a good fit, but then again i don't know your teams level. so let me know what a AAA team is. and good luck trying to find the right comp. |

My team has been to Florida for UDA, Minneapolis for UPA, and Notre Dame Univ for NBTA... but the one we prefer is Jamfest Super Dance Nationals in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was the total experience!! |

We have gone to UDA and NDA. UDA has really strict rules regarding lifts, split drops, and alternate dancers-which can be annoying when you are trying to choreograph. At UDA I don't think the quality of dancer is any better than NDA (talking about jazz divisions), but the quantity is huge! At NDA we're against 30-35 teams and at UDA it could be 60. The hip-hop at UDA is very hip-pop-at NDA the all-star hip-hop teams are amazing! The kick teams at UDA were amazing, but at NDA they suck. We went to JamFEST Super Dance and won in two divisions. We thought it was too easy-although Wade Robson did a master class so it was worth it. It was very disorganized and expensive, but it was their first year. I guess it depends on which division you plan on enetering and how much money your team is willing to spend. |
