Carwash is a really good song, however it's extremely overused. In my studio last year, all the third level jazz classes used it.

What has happened to all the good songs listed on the old thread? Have they all been deleted or are they hiding somewhere?

Help! My daughter is choregraphing the Junior Drill coming up next month. We have the song "Fire It Up" by Rick James as one of the songs she is using. Well---- we listened to it again last night. Woe! We need to find a CLEAN copy of the song without the swear words. Any ideas where to find a CLEAN copy?

Appreciate any help.

why did all of the old ones get deleted...now if people need them they're all gone and it takes a long time to build up all of those songs like it was before.

keep dancing,
Lauren

I am a mom who beleives age-appropriate costumes choreography and song choice is very important. Here are some song ideas:

Good, but overused:
5678
Cotton Eye Joe
The Race
Kung Fu Fighting
Car Wash
Witchdoctor
Hip to be Square
Supermodel

Don't like:
Barbie Girl (LISTEN TO THE LYRICS)
Vibology
Toxic
Love Machine (yuck)
Mambo#5
anything from Chigago

One's I like:
Walk like an Egyptian
Crocodile Rock
Fame, Footloose, other 80's stuff
What I like about You
Proud Mary
Red Alert
I'm a Believer

Can't think of ant more right now...

These are all great suggestions, but i was wondering if anyone had any warm up music or class music for little kids that they would enjoy listening during class while going down floor streching etc. These are all more recital and competition songs. Thank you

To the person above - ALL DISNEY SONGS WORK GREAT! They love it! And old Britney Spears, too. I swear, kids love it.

But I like for competition dances for kids :
Wicked - Popular

Aretha Franklin - Can't Turn You Loose
Shake Ya Shimmy.. don't know who sings it lol
Donna Summer - She Works Hard For Her Money
Dreamgirls the Musical - Dreamgirls (never heard this song til watching Showstoppers Nationals. It's a good song for little ones!)
Elvis Presley - Hunk of Burning Love
Jerry Lee Lewis - Great Balls of Fire
Jerry Lee Lewis - Whole Lotta Shakin'
Pat Benetar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot
S Club 7 songs!
Seussical - Alone in the Universe would make a GREAT lyrical song for little kids
Prince - Baby I'm a Star
