hi there,
I am a teacher in Australia and at the beginning of each term I listen to the top 40 and choose appropriate songs also the right speed for each class level to do their technique to. Also I add in a few classic songs that they would know as well so each term I have new music for them.
Hope this helps.

not to sound rude in any way but if you listen to a specific version of Diamonds are a girls best friend its kind of...disturbing. I always wanted to dance to i but she told me after Nicole Kidman (i believe) re-did it, If i danced to it, it would be a joke. Just something to keep in mind. Im not sure if that has an impact on you or not but and FYI

I have a jazz soloist who is about 7. She is usually very shy, BUT VERY OUTGOING once she hits the stage. I'd like to do something with her that is age appropriate but not overdone!

Does anyone have any ideas for NEW (not mentioned here previously), cute, bubbly and outgoing songs?

All ideas are welcomed and appreciated!

I realize that no one has posted on this sticky in years - but hopefully someone can see this and can help! I am choreographing a sister duet - and they want to do jazz. There is a large age difference between the two, one is seven and the other is thirteen. I am looking for something that is unusual, age appropriate, and makes sense for the differing ages. It doesn't have to be "sisterly", I will take any opinions!

When I teach im a big fan of old school stuff like the spice girls and five and I used a song by Mika and the girls seemed to realy enjoy that. Another one I use is I like the way you move by the body rockers.
