practising backhandsprings alone? en>fr fr>en

I've done back handsprings at my gym before, but I really want to practice them at home, and so far I've been too scared! Is it too dangerous to try on my own or are there any drills I can do to improve them? something I can do on my own and without proper equipment. (i mean, i have a trampoline, a matress and a big space, but thats about it!)

any ideas, i kind of dont want to kill myself...

Yeah, It is very dangerous to do them at home if you dont have enough experience...Ive fallen on my neck , oh so many times while trying to do them at home, And It messed up my technique(even on the trampoline)on top of that! I think you should just do handstand snap downs , anddoing back bends and jumping with your feet, but leaving your hands on the ground. And doing standing backbands because it helps you get used to going back from a standing position... Hope I helped! Be Safe!

Yeah... definitly not a good idea!

But, in addition to all the really good tips the above poster, I was thinking that you can work on conditioning excersices so you can get stronger and get your bhs faster... I mean work on crunches, sit-ups, handstands, push-ups, just jumping on your trampoline (to increase leg muscles), maybe sprinting a little bit, etc.
