Hello! My name is Erin.. i am a Preformer.."Artist".. you would like to call it that.. a Music/Dance Artist.. Preformer lol..anywayz.. this is going to be my Sophmore Year in highschool.. I'm in concert choir..went to NYC with the band and choir.. it was a trip and we preformed.. ive been in musicals..i sang for choir in middle school.. ive just mainly preformed alot.. lol too many preformances to name.. I'm a dancer.. in many forms.. tap,ballet,jazz/hiphop..love it all!! Hopefully, this year am going to get into baton twirling.. (ive got connections with people lol) and i just made an allstar competiton pom squad.. and then hope to do more with my dancing.. and I really won't get into all the details right now lol..but my question is.. okay, so basicly in my highschool years.. I want to get alot of and more of preformance experiences.. such as:
musical(i couldn't tryout for that this year..cuz well ya no how freshmen year goes! lol)
solo & emsomblee..(sry can't spell lol).. for choir..
tryout for chroale.. Pops Concert (talent show) and okay im not gonna list all the things..lol
I tryed out for my highschool poms and didn't make it.. i tried out 2 times.. its hard.. and pretty insance.. and unfair.. im not gonna go into the details once again..its just no the best.. let me tell you that much..
and since I just made this allstar pom team..(it was alot of money lol) and im only gonna do classical (half a year)at my studio.. AND if i get into baton twirling.. then ill just be doing alot of preforming.. haha..and I want to tryout for the company at my studio.. just there will be no time for highschool poms.. and I just don't feel the way i used to about tryout out for highschool..it jsut to much.. and i just don't "feel" that way about it anymore.. do you know what I mean? Just the feeling is just slipping away... and its just not as importent as it was..i mean ive tried SO HARD.. to get where i am..
but okay, since that was quite long-winded... im very sorry.. hopefully you understood all of that!
I was thinking.. maybe when I'm like a senior or jr even.. do you know if like I could do a dance routine.. maybe add in baton( if i DO get into it.. and get good) and just like a really long dance routine.. add in some ballet..hiphop.. poms.. all of it.. and i was wondering if i could do it(maybe with another dancer friend) if i would be allowed to preform that at one of my pep rallys..because, well i no ive only been to one so far..and just when i see all the pom girls out there looking happy and doing their thing.. i just feel like I CAN do that.. and idk do you think they would let me? Or, have you ever doing something like that? Or, does your own school's pep rallies let you do that? I would probably have to talk to the athletic department or activiest office? like, do you think I should? Should I mention that do the athletic deparment?
*The whole reason I'm asking this is because, well I LOVE TO PFEFORM! Its like my life..idk what i would do without it.. it just makes me SO happy! Not only to have a smile on my face..:) but do see the smiles of others..may it be in the audience or preformers with me.. its just an AMAZING FEELING.. and just the experiences and the long lasting memories that can last an etirnity.. i mean in my "days of preforming".. all these different people come into your life.. and its just amazing and fantastic.. just fabulous how they can have such an incredibl, remarkable impact on you.. i mean all these people i have preformed with.. there all family..i love it! I mean what an INCREDIBLE..experience that would be.. (exspeicaly your Sr. year).. doing and showing everyone what you absolutely LOVE to do..( i mean sure i could do it at the Pop Concert.. but i mean yes, i do plan on being in that..(if i make it)..but I was just thinking.. wouldn't be so cool to do it at a Pep Rally?) I want to seriously do something with all of this when I get older..I'm not talking about Fame and Fortune..I also write.. everyone has told me wut a gift i have and how talented and beautiful I write..I'm SUCH a hard worker.. I show love in everything I do..and and i just want to make a carrer as a "Music Artist"... a Preformer.. a Dancer..I want to write my own music and share with others.. it would be nice to be famous..and I am wishing to get discoverd..but I will NEVER STOP trying.. I want to LIVE MY DREAM..and follow my heart..
and thats EXACTLY what I'm doing!
God Bless Everyone and Good Luck with everything.. and ALWAYS remember.. follow your dreams.. they can take you places..,
Erin
PS, and everything i mentioned up there^.. i ment everyword from my heart.. and I encourge you all to do the same! 1 Replies to Pep Rallys...Rallies? lol haha.,,you know what I mean.. | re: Pep Rallys...Rallies? lol haha.,,you know what I mean.. en>fr fr>en By PomPonGirl Comments: 319, member since Sun Feb 08, 2004On Wed Jul 27, 2005 09:40 PM
lolz, that was long! tee-hee! There is a girl in my school that does twirling, and she is GOOD. She preforms with the school band (like, on the football feild, in parades, ect.). I think if you ask, the worst they could do is say no. However, to be perfectly honest, coming from a pompon girl, I would be a little ticked to see someone else be dancing a routine after we just danced; EXPESSIALLY if you do pom out there. Even though your on a different pompon squad, I would feel a bit like you were being like "well, I didn't make your team, but I'm doing poms out here without you instead" (not saying that is why you are doing, but that is how I would feel).
I think it is an exellent idea though to twirl in front of the school! I would go for that verses the dance part.
And, may I ask you a question. Why do you want to be in twirling. It sounds like you preform a lot now, and adding another sport MAY be too difficult. I'm not saying that you can't do it, but between your dance and music, it will take a lot. The girl at my school has been doing it since she was 6 and she has NO time for anything else. I'm just saying that learning it might take A LOT of time, and you might not have much time for music and dance.
Good luck either way!
