i think the girl that wrote the post saying that cheerleading is the same thing as gymnastics needs to look at this picture. and did she miss the pictures of people stunting? they don't do that in gymnastics either? and we don't do beam, bars and vault. that's one of the most ridiculous things i've ever heard. |

I agree. Cheerleading at it's best, can by a simple pic of one girl on her own. |

I love this picture of you. Magnificient presentation and form. Beautiful hight. It's ALMOST poster perfect! If you were looking up. Oh I read all the other posts and completly understand why you were not looking up. All the same a nice smile would finish it off nicely.
You work and determination is inspiring.
Pointed toes... so nice. You see so many beautiful jumps with these ugly flexed feet and wonder how hard it would be to point you dang toes! |

Wow, you've got a great toe touch! But are your jumps as good and high every time you do them? I have a hyperextended toe touch too, but sometimes when I'm having a bad day I feel like my legs barely get off the ground! It's really frustrating. Does this ever happen to you?
Can you post photos of your other jumps too? Are they as good as your toe touches? I'd love to see your pike/front hurdler!
Good job anyway! |

i have a hyper extended jump (half katie's extension at best) and it is actually hard to point the toes lol
i never had much background of cheer before i got heavily involved, so the form hasn't been drilled into me. i try really hard to point my toes but it's a tough habit to break! maybe there are some people with hyper toe touches and flexed feet that can easily fix it, but i'm not one of them and i'm sure there are others lol |

sure, i'll post some pictures of my other jumps. and of course my jumps aren't always that height. sometimes their higher, sometimes lower, depending on my mood, how tired i am, etc. |

^ no need to be rude - people are giving you compliments and suggestions, which is the point of posting pictures on a site like this, no? |

i agree w/ Sunshinepointe....You seem to like get a little defensive when we're just trying to help w/ your jump, dont post pics if you dont want our critisism. not to be rude of course. |

Wouldn't you get a bit testy if people didn't bother reading through the thread and kept correcting the same thing? I'm all for constructive criticism but 3 times in a page and a half thread is a bit much |

i dont think i would actually...I like hearing critism from all different people. And she could just be polite about it and say something like "thanks for taking the time to respond, i've been working on keeping my head up." Just a suggestion though. |

...i did say that the first few times. and don't lie, you know you would get annoyed if people told you the exact same thing over and over, even if you had already said that you've fixed it. this picture was taken over a year ago. |

haha UCO you make me smile!! You're so blunt! "don't lie!"
Can I admit that I get annoyed reading the same damn thing over and over! Can't imagine how you feel.
*note* if you going to reply to something read the other replies before. How hard is that? |

My last post in this thread because I hate seeing things degenerate into "she said this and she said that"...
... i dont see whats wrong with that at all, even if people have responded with the same reply before us.
What's wrong is that you aren't ADDING anything to the conversation. You (and a couple of other people) are right in that it would look better if she looked up. However if you had never posted or seen this thread... she would have heard what you had to say anyway. If you want to offer constructive criticism find something new to comment on. |

haha thanks, Spartanette! that's how i roll! but i think you said it best. is it so hard to go through and read the thread before you go and repeat things over and over?
I agree with MelliMel. this is getting ridiculous. i'm starting to wonder if some people just want to put me and my toe touch down for some reason, so if they can only come up with one thing over and over, then go ahead. i'll just start ignoring them, because anyone who has read this thread knows that it's already been said and i have already fixed it. |

Aww honestly Kate, no one is trying to put your toe touch down, we all think it's really great. I honestly think they were only trying to help. I don't always read the other pages myself, I just click post, so they might not have seen your other post Don't be mad Kate, pwease?

You need to keep your head and chest up. I can't even see your face. Try and move your arms a little farther back into a T. They are wayy too forward, even for a hyperextended jump.
Good technique comes first, then height. Anyone can do a high jump with poor technique. But it takes a great cheerleader to do both. So just keep those two things in mind. It is very pretty though, you look awesome. Your toes are so perfectly pointed. |

first off, did you read this thread at all, the last few posts in particular? that's all i have to say about the head/chest thing.
about the arms, no, they aren't too far forward. to hyper-extend your jumps that high, you have to move your arms forward. check out the other two hyper-extended jump pictures in the Cheer Photos - Misc. section, or any other extremely hyper-extended jumps. you can't move your arms back into a T obviously because your legs are in the way.
and how dare you say i have poor technique? i mean i'm thankful for geniune critiques (the first couple of times, but not a million times over) but you're just being rude! i know that i don't have "poor technique." you don't seem to know enough about hyper-extended jumps to know what poor technique would be... |
