Figure Skating too late to start? en>fr fr>en By snow_flake Comments: 1, member since Sat Oct 22, 2005On Sat Oct 22, 2005 02:27 PM
hi =)!
I'm 17, living in the UK & have just re-discovered a love for figure skating. I wanted to be a skater as a child, but I decided to dance instead. I saw Disney on Ice earlier today & its really inspired me! I was awestruck really & I wish I could skate like them! I have dance experience, although I quit around 2years ago & ballet was my main love. I just wondered if it's too late to start learning figure skating? & if not, would it be better to start private lessons? 3 Replies to too late to start? |

It's never too late to start, as I'm sure you've heard.
And there is already a thread going about this just a couple posts down. |

Yup, I agree. Just get your hands and feet on some lessons. Things will progress faster than you think. |

The question "too late" is kind of vague.
Is it too late to start skating and win olympic gold, probably. Is it too late to start skating for fun and maybe some local competitions? Nope. I'm 24 and I started at 21, took some time off and then came back and I'm doing just fine
So really the "is it too late" question depends on what your individual goals are. |
