That's gorgeous! Bow and arrows are so hard to get to. Is this being used as a part of a stunt sequence?

Yes we do this stunt in our Group Stunt. We start from a regular ground up liberty position and then she just kicks the legs up on the way so it becomes a direct Bow N Arrow. It looks really cool

well it's hard to define perfect, but i'd say it's pretty amazing. but i would like it better if she would grab by her ankle instead so that way she could point her toe though. pointed toes make a huge difference in anything.

But won't that look for Cirque Du Soleil or Ballet instead, if she pointe?

I think it takes more flexibility to flex the foot over her head the way she's doing it here then to point her toes. I think this looks perfect, I can't seee it getting much better.

what's wrong with looking Cirque Du Soleil? judges love new things. people are constantly incorporating more gymnastics, ballet, jazz and other moves into their routines. if we all did the same "cheerleading" type things all the time, the cheerleading world would get boring. anyway, i'd have to disagree. pointing toes is always better, unless it's a hip hop dance move or something that is supposed to have a spunky sort of flexed foot.

so do when girls do scales and arabesques they should flex their feet as much as possible right? becuase they wouldnt want to look like ballerinas or Cirque du Soleil artists or anything. pointing your toes on things like stunts (not the foot your standing on of course) and jumps are things judges look for on-most of the time they fall under technique on a score sheet. Also most of the girls on my squad have alot harder time pointing their foot in their bow-n-arrow and still having it right by their head. It is a excellent bow-n-arrow though.

exactly! the same thing applies to heel stretches and bow-n-arrows as to arabesques and scales.

i'd love to have the whole stunt group that happy little flyer would just be a happy little girl standing on the ground doing a bow-n-arrow if she didn't have the bases and back.

Yes, if the whole stunt group wants to hop on a plane down under i'll welcome them with open arms.

they're such hard workers! i'd kill just to have so many kids their age that just work that hard, even if they weren't as talented! are they around junior high age? because it seems like most of the girls i've coached that were around 11, 12, 13 years old just thought they were as awesome as they could get with a backhandspring or tuck and liberties and they didn't want to work to get anything else...
the girls i've coached in all-star seem to be a different thing though. maybe because they compete and if they don't work to get better, they lose, so they try harder every time after that.

The girls I coach (this group stunt is on this squad) are between the age og 12 and 16. Thats a hard age lol, but this squad is really hard workers so I think they can be good. We hope they can go high in the Norwegian Championship. In Norway the tumbling is waay behind USA etc so my squad (we have 2 roundoff tempi (double back hand spring) as the best tumbling) have the best tumbling of all junior squads in Norway I guess we just are not a tumbling country, lol, but atleast my girls are trying the best they can with tumbling lessons etc so I have to be pleased anyway!

Tumbling is hard to come by pretty much anywhere but the US to be honest. Look at most international competitions and the majority of teams only have a handful of decent tumblers. Most teams are happy with a couple of back handsprings never mind standing tucks.
