Just wondering if any ice skaters here take ballet as part of their training. Do male ice skaters take ballet as well?

Thanks

Kev

Female here :) and I take ballet for ice-skating. Though recently I've stopped because competition training on the ice took up alot of time. Restarting ballet in december.

I took ballet last year, and it made my legs so much stronger. It really is a terrific help. This year synchro practice is in the time slot the lessons were available, but I hope to start up again next summer.

I used to do ballet, I did about 8 or 9 years of it and it really does help with skating :) IF you're keen, give it a go! It does nothing but BENEFIT your skating. The only downside is that sometimes you can get a little stif when you're meant to be bending your knees. But it DOES help!
