I just recently read your post and I was all like cool! I get shin splints randomly. Well today during dance class my shin started to kill me so right away I went and taped my shin up just like this post showed me how. I was sooooooo... glad that I had read this post just acouple of days ago. I was so so so happy.

Thats good that it worked, but if it's super bad go to your doctor. Don't put yourself at any risk for stress fractures or anything like that, maybe ask about taping and get their advice.

currently my legs are all tied up. i taped them for dance tonight and im going to leave it on for tomorrows class. IT USES SOOOO MUCH TAPE!!! but its worth it. ive used a mix of expensive tape from physio and normal sports tape from shoppers drug mart. im definately not as sore asi usually am when i dance like i danced tonight.

Lucky all of you CAN tape.
I am allergic to adhesives....so I have to ace bandage my shins.
It isn't the same thing I can tell you that much but it does help! |

CDN: I don't buy tape because it's super expensive and I'd use it up too quickly with the size of these calves. So I decided to try the self-adhesive ace bandages and let me tell you they're the greatest things since sliced bread. They're definetly a great alternative to the regular bandages. They give much more compression and feel really good on the shins.
Plus you never have to deal with those dumb clips |
