BittyBallerina, you took me down memory lane (LOL) with one of my old SO. I tried everything with her to give me freedom to create and teach, including showing her a video of my work but she staunchly refused to let any of the teachers spread their wings. It just had to be done HER WAY! In the end I moved on and have no regrets. You can try talking to her and asking for some sort of compromise. But if she is as you describe, I feel she'll still say NO. Hope the best for you!
