Oh, how sweet! It reminds me of my coach, one of the girl's in my class just had a baby sister, and my coach would stand the baby up on her had - the Amazing Balacing Baby. OF course the baby was in no harm at all. My coach would only let her go up as high as her chest, but it was so cute.

My daughter just turned 2 and I wouldn't dare risk her life like that. The spine isn't even close to being developed or protected until age 4. Any cheer or gymnastics cert programs you go to will tell you it is very dangerous to even let a child do a backbend or bridge under age 4. Patty Komara did a whole article for USA gymnastics on it.

I guess some people value the life and safety of their child more than others.

I'm not going to be one of those crazy parents who dreams of their child becoming this cheerleading legend. People say all the time "She is going to be a great cheerleader having a coach as a mom." I HATE that. She doesn't HAVE to cheer. She can do whatever her heart chooses; soccer, vball, dance, gymnastics, etc.

oh and about the whole safety thing... if i was a mom i wouldn't be flying my daughter if she was as young as the one in Lois's picture, but i think the first one is okay. she's plenty old enough and there are two other spotters there.

Yeah the one in the top picture looks at least 8 in my opinion. Plenty old enough. I think 5 is a good age to really start stunting with kids. Just my $0.02.

I would NEVER of risked my sisters life when she was this age. Hmm, oh well. I can't stop them doing that though.
