Hey!!! Theres no real specific music for popping as long as its got a solid beat!! You can pop to anything!! Just depends on whether its fast popping or slow or whateva!!!! Just listen to a few song(all different styles) and see which one makes you want to move most!!!

hey yo any song with a solid beat that you can clap too works. to start off, dont do a fast song start slow like "touch" by omarion or a lot of B2K songs work perfectly ya know. and then just move up into faster music like lose control by missy elliot ft. ciara. cool?

Try listening to funk music, such as Cameo,Parliament, Shock, Zapp, ect.
Just let the funk flow through you!!!

I recommend poppin to songs that not only have a solid clap but a good bass line. In any style of funk dance wether it be poppin, lockin, boogaloo or whatever the bass line is what you move to. These songs are some of my favourite jams to dance to. . .

Cameo - Word Up
Cameo - Candy
George Clinton and Parliament - Flashlight
George Clinton and Parliament - Erotic City
George Clinton and Parliament - One Nation Under A Groove
Earth Wind And Fire - Boogie Wonderland
James Brown - Play That Funky Music White Boy
Kool And The Gang - Get Down On It
Lenny White - Peanut Butter
Zapp and Roger - So Ruff So Tuff

FUNK should be your main priority to listen to as you FUNK DANCING... the best songz are good claps with a Decent Bass Line.. you dont ALWAYS need a bass line but its good to have one..

Cameo-Shake your Pants
George clinton-One nation under a groove
George clinton-Erotic city
George clinton-shes a bad mamma jamma
Zapp and roger-doo wa ditty
Zapp and Roger-so ruff so tuff
Lenny white- Peanut Butter
Fatback Band-Backstrokin

that should b enough ta keep ya Funkin for now

If your funk dancing, Dont dance to whak , crazy, fast beats like missy elliots...listen to funk,
U dont see ballet dancers dancing to hip hop, or hip hop dancers dancing to moztart, and more so funkdancers dancing to hip hop, funk dancing iz called FUNK dancing beacause you dance to FUNK, but im not saying dnt because u can if you want but i recomend Funk az a better option man

Dog... you need to get your mind straight...

The term funkstyles was a phrase that was coined by Popin Pete not too many years ago. It is used to describe the dance movement that gave birth to locking and the various forms of popping.

And really... since your being so closed minded... you're going to burn out after about 2 years of the same old songs.

hey, i'm from charlotte, so i pop to anything i hear. like 36 mafia, or ti, or any other rappers you can think of. but i prefer the old school. the beat seems much more solid, and it's good to start off with as well.
