As I voted for our new production, I kind of thought that maybe we should have a new sign-up form or something and maybe hold elections to get this place organized. So, I started this thread so we can discuss ideas on how to keep Pointe by Pointe continually active. So, I wonder, should we have some new sign-ups? We could then see who's still active and who's not and also invite new people and have them sign up. We could also hold elections for certain positions if need be and become an organized company, with principles, soloists, and corps de ballet members or whatever. Post your suggestions and opinions here. Thanks!

I think you should do the signups ASAP but as far as the Principals etc I would wait for a little, not too long though. Then we need to decide which ballet we are doing!
I think I would like to help out with costumes as far as choosing and altering etc.

ok, I'll post a new sign-up sheet sometime this weekend. By the way, do you know who the current head of this company is? I could do some choreography if need be. But I'd have to do it soon, before finals start.

GrishkoGirl and I were the costume designers and I would be happy to continue. I think that we should have a new sign up but, I think we should also hold off on the principal, soloist, corps de ballet until later when we choose our new production.

ok, we'll hold off the corps, principal stuff till a little later. We should PM GrishkoGirl and ask her if she still wants to be a costume designer. Also, yes, AutomaticTeapot, I think we should unsticky those two posts because they are not active any more. And Dance4Him, who I think was our head, hasn't posted since June 7 or something, so I think we should definitely vote for new positions like our head.

Ok, I asked the mods to remove those posts. We should start taking nominations for the Head of PBP. I think we should rename that position. Seeing as the is a company I think it should be called an Artistic Director.

I think we'd need a Artistic Director/Head, a publicist-who'd advertise new productions and invite new people, maybe a head choreographer, and maybe an assistant director. what do you all think? What other positions do we need and what ones that I named don't we?

oh, I also think we should PM all of the old members to see if they are still interested in being part of the company. I think we could divide the old members amongst ourselves and each PM some people, to make the process go faster than if I only did this. Well, let me know what you guys think.

^Maybe we could have a ballet mistress as the head choreographer because the ballet masters and mistresses usually teach choreography. But instead of them just teaching choreography maybe they could dance also but not in the piece that they choreographed.

I think the idea of PMing old members is a great idea, although when I tried to get PBP started in the past month I had already PMed them, most of whom came and checked out the forum and voted and what not I think that most of them shall become active members. Also I think we should have some who brings in new members and advertises the performances etc. There might be some other postions that some of the other members have ideas for, but right now I'm sure if we have a big enough company to have too many jobs.

^ yeah, we don't have too many members right now. hehe. hopefully that will change.

It´s great that pointe by pointe will become active again.

I think the publicist would be a great idea. As for the ballet mistress idea I think we should hear more opinions on it but it does sound interesting.
