Ashleigh,
That is a very good position and the photo shows it well.
The comment about doing the split lacks appreciation of the position. Your position is a classic contortion one and is very good. There is another way doing leg behind head AND in the splits but you were not doing that. Then there is the standing position but, again, you were not doing that either.
You asked for advice and I will give you that for the position in the photo! Try to rotate the shoulders more and get the elbow on the floor further around behind your shoulders. That will get a better angle to hold the ankle and will be more of a push force and that will assist to get the leg further around the neck. At the same time get the left arm over the top of the ankle and this will trap the foot under your armpit and your hand can go to your seat giving the leverage to rotate shoulders.
But - you are an achiever and the position is very good and you have a charming smile with it.
