Hey guys, i need help finding pointe shoes in UK size 45. I have been asked to be on pointe for a production and I cannot find my size in pointe anywhere. Any help would be great.
I imagine ordering custom by any company ought to do the trick. I know Sansha do 'men' sizes for pointe (at least at one point they did), but if you go custom through Freed/Grishko/whatever, they should be able to accommodate for larger feet. The Royal Ballet and Australian Ballet have men en pointe for some ballets. By the looks of the shoes, they are Freeds. :)

General question, and I don't mean to be critical or negatively judgemental, as I don't know enough about pointe work (thus my question).

It appears to my untrained eye that some of the dancers are not always 'over their pointe' all the time. Yet everyone seems to be following their choreo fine.

I have just seen a performance by the 'Trocks', if guys learning pointe results in dancing at that level en pointe or not then guys should certainly learn pointe.

As a principle I don't think so, I believe that men are naturally the strength and boldness of the dance, while the women are the delicate and intricate beings of the dance. Which is why being en pointe is made to look all fluttery and delicate. Men are not naturally programmed to display these characteristics. However I believe that they should be allowed the opportunity if they wish to do so to experience what its like as you can learn a serious amount about each others roles.

What sort of shoes are these guys wearing? Elastics not ribbons. Demi-pointe shoes?

Last weekend in New Zealand, the up and coming
young ballet dancer of Salem Foxx, who has a noted
Blog of "Ballet Boy New Zealand"......

Last weekend at a competition he did an original
ballet dance routine for a boy that is
a ballet dance en pointe...

Enclosed is one picture of him in his
ballet dance costume...

Seems, that pointe ballet dancing is becoming
no longer a female dominated type of dance.

Keep up the good work Salem!!! :)

I took pointe and was quite good at it, but I was never called to go on pointe during a show. There is no demand for males on point. What pointe did for me was to improve my center of balance.
