This is such a great resource, especially for those of us new to dancing. I've only been to one competition, so it's hard to really know what outfits look like. It's great to see the different color combinations.

Lots of Karma to you!! It was great to see my daughter's kilt (Dress Earl of St. Andrews, first picture) on someone else. She was thinking of having a jacket that color and once she saw it in the picture, she decided against it. So look how much money you just saved me! And I also vote a sticky!

It's also worth it to note that the link for red MacLean of Duart (of me in my new kilt) also contains a picture of Dress MacNaughton (a pic of me in the kilt I was borrowing), to go along with the pic of MacNaughton that's already present.

No one has posted Muted Blue Dress MacDonald tartan, although I admit it is fairly hard to find, for some reason. Its what my oldest son, Brennan, wears for his kilt. He isn't a dancer, though, but a piper.

I am kilt shopping so this is great information to have. To be able to see all these tartans already made up, is better then just looking at samples. Thanks for all the work you did putting this together. It sure saves the rest of us a bunch of time!

Oh, wow. That muted blue MacDonald is awesome.

If anybody ever finds a picture of Scrimgeour Gold in a kilt, PLEASE post it! I think it's lovely, from the swatches I've seen, but hard to tell without actually seeing it made up. If I were getting a new kilt, though, I'd definitely consider that tartan, I think it'd probably suit me well and be nice and uncommon.
