WOW! This is incredible! Does anyone have photos of the Dress Blue MacKeller or the Dress Blue Ross? I have only seen the small swatches on the Bent Needle website.

Edited by herecomestreble (181168) on 2007-09-10 13:52:03 I mistakenly called it blue when it is royal, so I made the correction.
This is Dress Royal MacKellar.

With Elaine7's permission, I am posting this tartan photo of 2 of her daughters and friend in their new kilts/jacket/vest/hose.
Cameron, on left, is wearing Dress Turquoise Lennox, her little sister Lindsay is in Dress Turquoise MacRae of Conchra and Heather on the end in Dress turquoise MacPherson.
Such a crisp picture, all the colours are very vibrant and you can see the red in the MacPherson.
Elaine7 had many issues with trying to get a proper jacket for Cameron. It all worked out well in the end and what a lovely fit it turned out to be.
Enjoy!

2 things: The link for the red Earl of Skye is now dead.

And I'm going to suggest that the picture for MacLean of Duart change to be the one in this thread: www.dance.net . . . instead of the one of me because the lighting in mine is so crappy that you can't see the tartan properly! (at some point maybe I'll take a pic of just my kilt, outside where it's nice and bright, for this thread too).

If I remember correctly (I am going back ten years) what you have listed as Dress Gordon, is actually Green Dress Gordon, because the original dress Gordon is blue.... tartanstore.com lists the green as a modern dress tartan, and the blue as the ancient dress tartan

Help, help.... Do you know for sure what tartan that is that you posted as pink? I would really like to find it and cannot find a tartan anywhere called Shillay. Do you know the person who wears it? Maybe she could help me. I actually am interested in it in red, Don't know if that is an option but I really like the tartan!
Thanks for any help!
What tartan is that?

Hi AussieFling,
I love the tartan you posted under Pink Shillay. I cannot find that tartan anywhere. Do you know if it goes by another name or do you know tht dancer in the photo. I am interested in getting it in red if possible.
Thanks!!

Hi dbj65 - I have noticed your request here for some assistance in tracking down the Dress tartan Shillay.
If you go to burnetts-struth.com
Look under "Kilts"--go to dancer's kilt
Open "view tartans" for dress tartans
You will find it listed under 10 oz. Reiver Tartans
"S" for Shillay
It's there as I double checked prior to passing this on to you.

Great to see that many came to your aid under your other post for Dress Shillay. I'm sure you're set now!

Hi The_13th_Sarah

This is a picture of The Dress Blue Ross (Hope it works). He got the first of the bail just after it was woven at Dalgliesh's.

Hi there.

I think that the tartan on my kilt is the blue cunningham. :D

It must have taken you ages to write all those tartans out. Thamk you for showing us them because now when someone asks me, 'what sort of tartan is that' I will know to say that it is a blue cunningham. Thanks for the information.

From Megan.

Congratulations Highlandlassie on a fantastic post. Also kudos to all of you who have added to it with newer tartans. I am looking for a picture of Dress Ettrick in a kilt as I have a hard time picturing it from the small swatch. Thanks in advance:)
