I'm sure most of you do theatre productions in high school.
Tell us what the name was and what part you played.

Lil Abner

Hello Dolly

I chose to do chorus for both. I didn't audition for any roles.

Last year my high school finally did a production that wasn't a musical. You see I have the voice of an angel but I don't want to make anyone jealous of it *major sarcasm!*. Midsummer Night's Dream is what we put on and I was Titania, the Queen of the Fearies. It was so much fun, I love Shakespeare.

Can I answer for middle school? We did a Midsummer Night's Dream for eighth grade, and I was Peter Quince! That was an interesting role. The play was incredibely fun, but I had to wear a really weird costume. Also, we performed it without shoes (don't ask), so, uh, it was a little different. But it waws really fun! This year, the school play is Westside Story, but I'm not in it.

Oh you are so lucky! I wanted to do Westside Story or Grease in high school. I went to a parochial school and they wouldn't allow us to do it. Grrr!

West Side Story
You Can't Take It With You
Auntie Mame
Hello Dolly
A Midsummer Night's Dream

Of course the school was open for 30 years before I got there, so those are the only ones I can remember. LOL.

When I was there, my school was in the grip of a horrible dictatorship led by three principals with matching micro-miniskirts and a huge emphasis on sports and maths/science subjects. So, after a long battle, we got to do George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. I played Julia.. and I didn't have to audition. Usually I carry on about favouritism, but I'm not complaining if it's going to work in my favour!

we just did our fall show- THE JUNGLE BOOK! (Rudyard Kipling version, NOT disney. it wasn't a musical). We couldn't do Dracula, because we live in a very conservative town (mehh) and it was considered too dark.

The Jungle Book was such an awesome experience, the costumes and set were so much fun... and i got to choreograph! i was a wolf pack member, and a crazy monkey. it was such a good time. HUGE cast, so almost everyone was involved. it was a really great bonding experience, and also nice and callenging to play an animal!

we're planning to do Bobby Wilson Can Eat His Own Face (for One Act) and Lucky Stiff for our musical. we're also doing student-directed one-acts in the spring, and i know my friend is writing his own adaption of Jekyl and Hyde (sp? sorry lol) i perform.
