Oh yeah. I was also a little curious about Onyx Winterguard in Dayton, Ohio. They are a half hour away from one of my possible schools so if anyone knows anything about them or how hard it is to get in, it would be great to know.

Visit marchingarts.com and click on 'Links Directory' in the upper left side of the top navigation bar. Click on Guard > Guards > Midwest > Independent ....... a huge list will appear of guards that are in Ohio and Indiana (there are more in Ohio). Happy hunting.

or if you haven't checked wgi.org already, you can search independent guards that way too.

Hey,
Like someone stated before, Onyx winterguard is decent, but My Favorite winter guard in Ohio would have to Pride of Cincinnati. They won first place last year at WGI and they are amazing!!!! They are relly good with their equipment and their bodies. They like to incorporate a lot of dance in their show. If you go to wgi.org and go to their multimedia and hit video clips, then go to 2005, and then to independent world. You can see a video clip of pride's weapon feature.. Good luck

In regards to Onyx's auditions, they usually have them in September. If you go to the website, click on auditions, and sign up and they will send you the info at the right time. Also, I don't know if you are looking for an Ind. World team or an Ind. A team, but they have both. Onyx World did well this year at WGI Finals and placed better than ever before. Onyx A had a great season too. So if you are interested, I would definately check them out and at least give auditions a whirl. The website is onyxcolorguard.org. If you want direct Onyx info, just e-mail them. The e-mail address is on the site.

If you go to wgi.org you can click on membership and then on the class that you are interested in and it will list some different guards. Some have links for them. Good luck!
