I just got a job at the rink! I'm going to be a learn to skate instructor. It's a brand new rink so they're just starting up the program but they've had so much interest that they needed more teachers. I'm so excited! I start today. I hope I get a discount on skating. :)

Can you do that sort of thing without teacher training in the USA
Over here all of the learn to skate teachers are all qualified coaches

Oh yeah! You don't have to be a certified coach to teach Learn to Skate here. You would have to be certified through the PSA if you wanted to be a private coach.

Hey cool new job! I was an understudy coach for Learn-to-Skate, which has since ceased here. It was fun! Hope the rink management is nice and you get good hours and nice kids/student :D
All the best - yay for more spending money!

I taught my first classes this week. I have a Snowplow Sam 1 class of 11 kiddos and a Basic 2 class of 10. The snowplow kids are really young and have never skated before, so most of the time is spent holding them help and trying to keep them moving. I didn't realize how much my back would hurt after being bent over for 30 minutes! The basic class is a little better because they're working on stroking, gliding, balancing, and they're starting crossovers. It's pretty fun though!

Hope your back is much better now that is what happens when you teach children but well worth it when you see them inprove

Good Luck to you for this week you are so lucky to be doing this in UK you have to be a qualified Coach
