well im 17 in may and i do four and a bit hours but it can vary...

I'm 14 years old and only do 2 hours so far.. but I'm hoping to do a bit more =D

Hmmm- it seems I'm freakish. My dance timetable looks like this
though it can change from time to time:
Tuesday: Advanced Foundation: 1.5 hrs
Grade 8: 1hr
Wednesday: Advanced 1: 1.5 hrs
Thursday: Advanced 1: 1.5 hrs
Saturday: Advanced Foundation: 1.5 hrs
Pirouettes: 1hr
Advanced 1: 1.5hrs

You spend an hours class on pirouettes???

Yup. I thought that was weird at first. I only started doing the class a couple of weeks ago- but now I realise why all the people in my school are fab turners!!!A whole hour of turn technique...mmm...dizzzy

classes? around 14 hours a week although it varies depending on how much i practice. it usually ends up around 16/17 hours

I'm 41 and returned to dance about 5-6 years ago, starting with tap and then gradually adding jazz and ballet. I had to give up tap this year though, as I can't find a class at a time that suits me. Instead I do pilates while my daughter is at her musical theatre class.

I am in my 20's and i do 6-8 hours per week.

I do about 7-10 hours a week which include 1 teaching class this term...but this is because alot of my classes are combined with others for concert work
During terms 1 and 2 i do from 10-20 hours...last year i did 21hours!! wow!! lol

balletmunky...what dance school do you attend?it must be a ballet school if you do so many classes of ballet and a pirouttes class!! it sounds so fun!!
I only do 3 classes of ballet a week and i love ballet so much!!!!

But i go to a Jazz school so that takes up most of my time at dancing.

right now i am doing a bit over 22hrs a week. It is getting pretty hard with school and stuff but i don't mind, but hopefully i can cut it down a little next year so i can focus a little more on school.

When I was in college....I used to dance for like 5 hours a day for the entire week after school. But that was more that 10 years ago.

Each week I dance about 5 hours but next year I’m going to do more. Wow, a whole class on pirouettes that’s scary!! Although I would probably benifet from a pirouette class…lol

ATM i am 19 and i am currently studying dance teaching full time so i do around 10hours a week at uni. But then on top for that i dance at a local studio for 5 hours each week, then if you add to that teaching which consists of 7 hours per week. it gives me a total of around 22 hours per week, but i'm always looking for more to do, i just wish there was more hours in the day sometimes.

sunday, 2 classes, 4 hours
monday 1 class, 2 hours
tuesday 2 classes, 4 hours
wednesday 1 class, 2 hours
thursday 1 class, 2 hours
friday 1 class, 2 hours
saturday 3 classes, 6 hours
22 hours.. roughly... these classes are at sydney dance and urban.. class lengths are supposed to be 1.45 hours, but coz the classes i do are usually more advanced... the teachers always drag it on for 2 hours.... holy shania! 22 hours! fun fun!

My daughter is 10 years old and loves to dance, last year she was dancing 5.5 hours a week but she has now started at a new dance school and is dancing 7 hours a week and still keeping up with music lessons and practice, and homework. When her dancing starts to impact on her school work she will have to cut back on a few classes.

I'm almost 17, and I dance out of school for about 8 hours or so, plus dance at school which is about 4 hours a week

All up with solo lessons about 13 hours a week.My daughter does 2 days a week at an irish dance school, totalling 4 hours, and the rest is spread over ballet/tap/jazz/musicaltheatre/acro/hiphop 3 days a week.

With normal dance classes we dance 6 hours but yes if you include private lessons for solo's then probably close to 8 hours a week.
After comps then it goes back normal, what ever " normal" is !!

I'm 14 and do 15 1/2 hours per week of classes plus I practice at home for a few hours as well - jazz, ballet, tap, performance, acrobatics, cheerleading, contemporary, hip hop ...

I do nine to ten... but i included my teaching hours (less than half though) because they are juniors and so i dance for all of their lessons too.

i do 4 hours a week
1 hour ballet
1 hour jazz
1 hour tao
1 hour physical culture

i dance:
Monday:2 hrs
Wednesday:1 hr
Saturday:4.5 hours
7.5 hours a week
but i practice every day expecially on Fridays for about 5 hrs with my little cousin who is also a dancer

Just to let you know, I dance recreationally Moving on..

I dance about 5 and a half hours a week - four and a half hours of ballet and one hour of jazz. I believe that 5 hours would be normal, for recreational, and extreme would be 12+ hours (if its recreational). by the way, I'm 15.
