Hello to all!:D
Well actually i am doing beginner adults class for ballet now, but i would like to switch to a school that really takes adult students (i'm 17) seriously. as in SERIOUSLY! i thought of Attitude Performing Arts, but for me personally, i really feel that i am heading nowhere with open classes, because it is my childhood dream (& fantasy, haha!) to really do ballet seriously, but unfortunately due to some circumstance it could not be fufiled this the beginning of this year. My question is, could i go up to the counter / call and ask if i could join a syllabus class (eg grade 5?) straightaway? or what else could i do or ask, cos if i have to take Adult Foundation & Syllabus classes simultaneously, i honestly think it would certainly cause a heavy financial strain on my poor parents. Please advise! i'm really in a dilemma.
THANK YOU ALL!

testing my avatar...
Anyway, where do you do classes now? I think 17 years old... hmm, you could try grade 5, yea. Where do you live anyway? If you live in the east or something then maybe I can recommend my teachers.

hello!
im learning at Dance Arts now. I live in the north.. & so far what i've read from the threads indicate that most reputable schools are located somewhere in the east or west? argh! that's so.. disappointing. the only reason why i thought of Attitude Performing Arts is cos its just beside my school. oh, Grade 5? but i'll haf to go thru an audition or smth? i'm not exactly good! i think i suck terribly. posture's terrible. bleah!

Have you got any background? I suppose if you've taken some adult classes then maybe you're ready for grade 5. I could be wrong, but I guess if you understand all the 5 positions of feet and arms, and how they should roughly look like, you can enter a grade 5 class and learn the rest... haha
I had a hard time teaching this girl who had no background the basics, but she dances modern dance quite well, and well, they're quite similar.
Just try grade 5 I guess, you'll be fine... not sure about north... There are good teachers in the east Of course, the other students can tell you how good their teachers are too, so, you'll just have to find out for yourself haha.=)

haha. my friend joined my class when she was 17 too. but she catched up really fast. maybe it's because she does modern dance and she's quite flexible. if u have some dance background, i think u can go into grade 5. depend on the teacher ba.

at sba. i think quite a lot of schools do offer advance found classes! as long as it's a dance school which does majors and it's quite reputable, it should offer advance found and above.

I think pavolacool is studying for dance degree/ diploma. That's why she's having so many classes. I don't think La Salle has walk in classes.
