WOAH. i just.. turn?? haha. well, you still have to think technical, but not THAT! haha. and no. dancingeorge can't always turn. lol. =P when i got my growth spurt and shot up like more than 10cm, i totally lost my centre of balance and after 1 years i'm finally getting it back. bit by bit. guys. it's not good to be tall. =X haha. or be tall suddenly.

I was told, doing pointe work changes your centre even when you go back to flat, I think it messes around with your muscle memory, so you gotta be very versatile... I tend to screw up alot en pointe =( pointe for guys ain't fun

well, dancingeorge is may right, Just 'turn' may be the best advice anyone can give.. but remember, its just pirouette =P not a turn =)

Pirouette - a balance that turns, and not a turn that tries to balance =)

haha I've told people to just turn before, and laugh myself off as I watch them flip flap flop and fall.

by the way, crunches help ALOT... one day I was so pissed with myself that I couldn't even do singles, and I went to do like 80+ crunches... after I came back with my aching muscles, I just anyhow turn... and well, I had doubles and triples easily... it kinda sets your pullup in the right place, especially when you're feeling it ache =)

5678 dance studio. err... its located at outram park now. used to be in orchard area. anyway, i used to dance ballet over there. but switched, since its far.

if you search under strait times classified, you can sometimes find the ad of this studio. it provides a lot of dance classes, including ballroom, ballet, chi dance...

somehow i feel the name of the studio is not professional enough. hmmm...

Hi!
Ok Dancing too many years. Like all my life. Something i cannot live without. Um, you could probably say, that it's a passion. I also had no choice. It's in the genes. Its now about 40 years. The beautiful thing now is that I get to share my passion and pass it on to those who love it. I really love this stage of it. I miss the learning of it and now pick out some obscure style to learn every once in awhile. Body is getting too old to dance. Still active with Pilates. So, my advice to all you young aspiring dancers... from Singapore, don't listen to what they say that you cannot make a living out there in Dance. My generation, choosing to dance was a Aiyoh thing for my parents. But now, its different. There is even an arts secondary school opening up! The world has become really small. Work hard and be true to your art and your soul!!!

Umm...I had to stop while doing majors at SBA because I broke my knee during an athletics competition. Concentrated on my university studies then and recently got back into dancing again. Decided to start at Level 1 'cos wasn't sure of my ability to dance after such a long lapse of time.

Really keen to start training again and do the majors. Anyone knows good studios who offer RAD vocational exam classes?

Unfortunately, I work in Shenton Way now...so I can only take classes after 7pm and around town...any recommendations?

I'm thinking of joining the Level 2 class at SDT too, but isn't sure about the standard of the class....Anyone who can volunteer some information? Are the Level 3 and Level 4 classes difficult? I guess I wouldn't have thought them difficult in the past but considering my current condition, I don't want to push myself too hard and risk spoiling my recovery...The Level 4 class is taught by Xia Hai Ying. If anyone has taken these classes or knows anyone who did, pls let me have some comments. Thanks!

I would think that the Level 3 and 4 might suit you more... It says level 4 = Elementary at the website, which is Intermediate, since you wanted Majors class, that might be it. But in my opinion, Majors class and Adult's class of equivalent standard can differ greatly, depending on the teacher. I would think that an Adult class is less intensive, but with more variation, like an open class, and even if it were equally intensive, its not so focused on personal mistakes but general mistakes. Of course, thats a concept with many many exceptions.. There are very good adult classes, and well, some not so competent syllabus classes too..

I believe SDT permits trial classes at 20 dollars per class? You can have one to get a feel of it. You might wanna call them up.

I'll stay anonymous!

I'm 16, 17 this year.

I've been doing ballet since forever, and have been doing hiphop for a couple of years. I tried breaking last year but it was... traumatic.

Favourite would have to be ballet.

But I like watching rhythmic gym too.
