guys i'm back! and we got 2nd!!

the 1st picture (above) was from our nationals showing at Oklahoma State. they did a showing with us at UCO and we did one with them at OSU. they got 3rd btw. they were awesome.

this has nothing to do with cheerleading, but i LOVE this picture. it's a few of the girls from my squad (i'm on the far right) and our coach at the club on the last night we were in Daytona.

Thanks for sharing. I copeted in Daytona once, at the alls tar championships right after the colelge nationals. Its a really fun comepetition and it's so cool that it's outside right on the beach. YOur pics look great and I love the white uniforms! SOmeday I'll put up my pics from Orlando. Congrats on second. Thats a great acheivement at such a big competiion!

thanks! did you get to see Stunt Fest when you competed there? it's crazy to look around and all you can see is stunts flying in the air and guys throwing crazy tumbling passes!

I just have one question that is going to sound stupid. Why is your hair down? I know it's back at the top, like a 1/2 pony, but the rest hangs down. I'm just asking because here (Canada) it would be against the rules. Do you guys not have a rule for that? Just wondering...

nope, we don't have rules against it. most of the college squads wear their hair half up.

And a 25 year old grown man can't wear a shirt with 'I love boobs' on it in a picture, but this guy can give the finger to the camera and not get in trouble for it?

schools are very protective of their reputation. if they think even ONE person will view it as provocative or wrong in any way, they will do what they can to fix it.

They view giving the finger as 'right' then?

A personal group picture is quite a lot different then posting a picture of your butt don't you think?

You can control your own actions, but you can't control the actions of someone else.

I'm not saying she made him do that, or should have controlled him. But I am very surprised that she would have posted it seeing as it might affect their reputation.

Sure, it's different than a picture of my butt in spankies. But I don't see my OLD high school I used to attend hunting me down for posting my butt in my spankies when I cheerleaded for them 4years ago, and don't attend the school anymore. Besides, they probably have changed their uniform too.

The team I was on isn't as serious as others, it's a small high school team.

Yeah I think I did seeing it. We were eating at bubba gumps and seeing these crazy basket tooses going flying. Hopefully I'll be there next year, if the stonehill coach ever emails me back. (sent the email a week ago and haven't got an answer yet. The admissions office didn't know how to get in touch with her and the athletic director never emailed me back and that was over a month ago. grr I want to cheer next year!)

as you'll notice *I* am not flipping of the camera in uniform. that was austin's decision and if he gets in trouble for it i won't feel bad for him because that was his decision. he signed a contract saying we wouldn't do things like that in uniform. so you can quit lecturing ME about it, thanks.

I recognized Daytona Beach as soon as I saw those blue signs one of the pictures.

I think my school will be at College Nationals in Daytona this year. It'll be our first year competing as far as I know. So I really hope we do make it there.

cool! you'll have so much fun. what school do you go to?

I'll probably be there too. I feel pretty confident about making Stonehill's team. I found a newspaper article on them and it said how it was great that they did so well (they got 7th in D2 all girl) despite their small size and lack of tumblers and I can tumble! I talked to the captain and she said my skills seemed impressive (i jsut told her what I could do she hasn't seem them yet) What's weird is, the skirts that they wear look exactly the same as the skirts my senior coed all star team has. Kind of seems like I meant for it. I tihnk it will be a lot of fun. Last year I was not interested at all with college cheerleading but this year I changed my mind. Even if I decide later it's not for me, doing it frekhmen year will allow me to meet a lot of people (football players, basketball players, the other cheerleaders etc.). I think I'll like it though . We'll have to have a DDN cheer party in Daytona next year!

oh trust me, you need to cheer college at least one year. you'll love it. the stunts are the most fun. well, and tumbling used to be fun before they made doubles illegal... grrr

I cheer for Montclair State in NJ. I'm really looking forward to it. Hopefully we'll actually make it to nationals. hehe.

well, if you go to camp you'll probably get a bid. correct me if i'm wrong somebody, but i think everybody at college camp gets a bid to nationals. if you don't get a bid or don't go to camp though, there's always the video. just make sure your stunts, tumbling and jumps are clean and solid in the video and i'm sure you'll get a bid.

Well we are going to camp so hopefully we do get a bid. There will definitely have to be a DDN party in Daytona this year. hehe.

My college went to Daytona to for nationals!!I am on the pom squad at mine and we got 5th in our division(division I) and our large co-ed cheerleaders won 1st for the 4th year in a row!Our All Girl placed 9th also.I go to Stephen F. i go to the University of Central Oklahoma. i know lots of people from SFA. do you know Chris Tedder, April Weaver, Gary Ford or Tim (can't remember his last name).
