I'm pretty new at guard (just made the team - woohoo!!), but I lean more towards rifle. I can't imagine anyone saying none!

My school does strictly flags.

our guard did strictly flags last year but we have a new instructor this year and he really wants to have rifle in the show this year. There are only 8 people in our guard, so he's thinking that maybe only the captain and me will be doing it...and i really dont know how yet. I guess it will be an interesting band camp this year!!

i've only done flag so far, but i'm going to do rifle this year. it seems fun. i have to learn it because for winterguard we're going to do an all rifle show. i think i have to wait to learn the sabre till next year, though. it seems like the funnest.

But how can you forget dance? I love dance

Yeah I think dance is one of the best parts of color guard. Personally as a spectator, besides the dance part I love to see the falgs, they're so colorful and exciting to look at! I like sabres too so light(looking anyway, I don't know if they're really light) and really beautiful when you toss them. Rifels look too complicated to me, I don't know if I'll ever even pick a rifel or sabre up anyway

To watch I would say flags.
To preform it would have to be rifle and sabre. Sabre took me forever to learn, but now that I know it, I love it. It's so much fun to do tosses with.

I love flags, rifle's fun too, hard to choose, i also love dance, but i don't get to do much this year. our school doesn't allow sabers (some weird rule about mock weapons, but rifles are okay??)

I like all of them (even though i dont have a sabre yet) I don't do colorguard at school (like all of you lucky people that get to skip gym for it). I do colorguard at a local boys high school. we have a junior guard (which is the one i am on right now) and a varsity guard (which consists of high school girls.)both teams have sixteen girls on them.

salatrixx, don't worry about the mock-weapons rule. It happens to the best of us. I got stopped in the DFW airport in like 1991, and I had to actually do part of my guard show with my saber in the airport terminal to convince them that it wasn't a big knife. Funny thing is - I was probably pretty dangerous tossing that thing around in the terminal like a mad man. But luckily, my friends and I used to practice throwing 6s, 7s and 8s in our apartment (with an 8-foot ceiling). So I was totally into the whole extravaganza. They were actually really impressed with my performance. hehe. I actually got applause from the people in the terminal.

But at the last school I worked with, it took a LOT of convincing until they decided to let us have sabers. But we just told them if we wanted to hit someone on the head, we could just as easily do it with a rifle or a flag pole or a trombone.

ive only done flag and dance so far. I just started learning rifle and were startnig sabre on tuesday. but so far rifle is fun. but its really hard and a lot of work. its so different from flag or anythign ive ever done before. and double time is crazy hard!

well personally im a big saber and flag spinner. i dont know...im just not into rifle as much as the other two. haha and i love dancing also. ive been dancing for 12 years so whenever we get to dance for guard is funn but im uasually doing equipment instead of dancing which is a bummer but its all good

As my instructor would say, "they are all equally important." But of coarse everyone has their favorites!

I love spinning weapon. Mostly sabre. I like watching rifle more though.

i love the sound of a flag silk when you're spinning, but i love rifle. i just started learning this year because my coach wants me to spin for our homecoming, and i can't wait!

Sabre's my favorite. There's something about how it is so delicate yet strong at the same time that I love!
