It's hard to describe, but here's how we do the beginner ones. If you get on your knees and lay one arm (we'll say, left) flat on the floor extending to the side. flat palm on the floor. The other hand (right) goes on the floor by your shoulder, palm down (like a backbend hand). Turn the left side of your cheek onto the floor and look at your right hand. From your knees lift one leg to a scale type position, and extend the other, so both legs are straight. One is pointing at the ceiling, and the other is still with the toe on the floor. Usually we practice this pose for a while. When you're comfortable, bring the other foot up to the first. It takes a little push with the base leg. The thing is, if you don't get your balance, make sure you roll out through the straight arm, over your left shoulder, so you don't hurt your neck. | re: Chest Stand?~!How to? en>fr fr>en By Male_Dancer5 Comments: 184, member since Thu Nov 24, 2005On Sun May 14, 2006 11:54 AM
^^^^^^ That's a shoulder stand!
A chest stand is very different. In a chest stand you begin on your kness(not sitting on them though). You stick out your tummy ( i tell people to think they have a neddle with string and someone is pulling from the other side) and roll onto your stomach. Your hands should be placed at your sides before you roll up. While you are in the chest stand you try to get your legs as far over your head without roling out. Once you practice you will be able to hold this stand. Good Luck!

First off, make sure you practice these on a mat of some sort, so you dont hurt yourself.
Start on your knees, push your hips fowards as much as possible, leaving your upper body where it is for as long as possible (chest rolls are quick, so this will only be a second). When you can't keep it up any longer let yourself go. Your hips should roll down to the floor and the momentum will propell yout legs above your body. Keep your arms out flat to hold yourself up.
