My boyfriend and I would like to go to Paris this July, so we are looking for a hotel to stay in. The thing is: many friends have told me to look for a hotel in Montmartre, as it is one of the most romantic quartiers and so on.

I'd really like to stay in Montmartre, but I don't know if that will be a problem in terms of public transport (specially at night) and in terms of sightseeing during the day (I don't want to spend a lot of time travelling by tube every day to get to the monuments).

So, my question is: is it worth staying in Montmartre? Or is it better to book a hotel near the city center and just go to Montmatre one day?
