your name: Courtney
name of studio: Dance Works Studio
your age: 21
how long you have been teaching. Technically 3 years but I have been assisting and doing things around the studio since I was 10.
what styles you teach: Jazz and Lyrical are my specialties but I have taught ballet and will be teaching tap this year as well.

How you learned: Taken dance since age 2.5 traveled around the country taking class in LA and NY. Taken Classes in modern, kisneology and ballet in college. Currently working on a BFA in dance.

If you danced before, if so what you took, who inspired you:
Well almost everything, from irish step dance, rhythmic gymnastics, belly dance, pilates, rhytmic gymnastics to the traditional Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Modern, Jazz, Pointe etc.
Gregory Hines , Fred Astair, Ginger Rodgers (the classics) and Frank Hatchett have always been my favorites! Although currently I love Nick Lazzarini and Jason Parsons, and of course the brilliant Mia Michaels.

And do you remember your first dance teacher? Yes my mom was one of my first dance teacher even though she didnt have her own studio then. I danced to thumbelina and had a hot pink polka dotted tutu!
I guess technically though my first dance teacher was Dianne Kurns.
