YES, I think they are written in Russia too and then transalated?

See at this link the two first books from amazon.com!
www.amazon.com . . .

The first one which I wanted to recommend you is "Basic Principles of Classical Ballet"
by Agrippina Vaganova.

The other is "Vaganova: A Dance Journey From Petersburg To Leningrad"
by Vera Krasovskaya and Vera M. Siegel.

But if you search more you can find many others too, hope I helped..

Hi pointe_star,
I totally agree with you on "Basic Principles of Classical Ballet"
by Agrippina Vaganova.
I have this book for many many years, I have it in English, and I would really want to find it in original language, but in Russia its not as easy to find this type of books. Most are too modern and Western.

Actually, I've a list of some good ballet books, but its at another computer. I’ll try to get it soon.

Hey, Eclea - Vaganova book actually has a brand new edition in Russian. It was hard to find it in Russia 5-10 years ago before the new edition came out. Now it is in all the bookstores and pretty cheap too. At least it is available all over St.Petersburg, where i am from. There were other books that recently came out in new editions too, if you are looking for Russian language versions, like Shiriaev's legendary book on Character dance.
And by the way - for other people interested, Krasovskaya's "School of Classical Dance" exists in English. It is probably hard to find (the one I have is a 1978 Moscow edition) but it exists

Forgot to mention Krasovskaya's "100 lessons in Classical Dance" - this one is readily available in the US for sure
