School dance teams usually have some sort of command structure (or at least a captain). Do you have officers? Are you an officer? I do sympathize with you, as I have worked with many technique-less dance teams. But for the record, good classical technique is not always the same as good dance team technique (As much as I hate to admit it, it's true - sue me). And there are many aspects of dance team that 11 years of classical dance lessons will not teach you (e.g. how to clean work, how to be a good team member, etc.).

I have to wonder why you would audition for a team that (in your own words) sucked.
