That is very helpful thank you! I also think that the "frog" stretch is very helpful. This is where you lay on you stomach and bring your legs up as if you are doing a plie. Keep your rear down and try and get your feet to the floor. This usually is not very painful but trust me it works!

Thank you for posting this! It will really help a lot. ;D

I'm still a bit shy to tell my teacher about this but I'll start doing it in the studio when we have our individual warm-up sessions before rehearsals. Hopefully, he'll ask me about it and the others will follow, too.

Thanks again! Happy Holidays! ;D

I started using this workout around a month ago before starting my beginners class. According to my new instructor, I have "outstanding" turnout and she used me as a demonstation in front of the entire class. While it was mildly embarrasing, I was giggling inside :)

Thank you, I have tried the exercises and found that they make a difference to how I feel about turnout, I won't forget too often in class now!

Thanks! This is wonderful and its helped a lot of people!
I just want to remind you-that next time, you might want to wear some long pants and a sweatshirt or something-the internet is full of perverts-who for some reason get a thrill from seeing us in our leotards or whatever. Yes, ew. So cover up! :P

*shrugs* ... hehe, I don't really concern myself with the perverts. There's someone out there who will get a kick out of long pants and sweatshirts too so it doesn't really matter to me :D

also to make the 1st exercises more challanging you can tie a theraband/resistaband around your thighs- this excersise helped me so much!

Thank-you so much for taking the time to post the videos. They've been a great help. I even tried doing the clam stretch with the therabands that someone else suggested. I've read elsewhere that clamstretches should be done with limited opening of the legs to avoid bulking up the thighs. What's been your experience?

Thanks!
Finally!!!!

Well, I'm not the best dancer in the whole world, but, after 6 years in ballet I can't turn clearly, and that freaks me a lot!!!

I don't know why?? =(

This excersices are a very good idea to improve my turnout.

Thank you so much.

Another tip which might help is to do the "clam" exercise as posted with a theraband wrapped around your knees in a "figure of eight" shape. This adds resistance which will help build up the muscles that hold your turn-out faster. I learnt this of my physiotherapist and it really works!!

Thank you so much! I can't wait to start these. My teacher keeps correcting me on my turn-out..."Kate _____!" (She calls me by my full name, haha.) "In classical ballet, you want to TURN OUT!" Thank you, ma'am, I'm sorry, I know, but right now with my sucky turn-out, it's not happening! Heh. So...yep. Hopefully this will help. Thank you so much for putting it together!
