hey! well tonight we were working on our pom routine and changing things and now i have to do a leg hold. i can do a leg hold just fine, the problem is that i'm having trouble doing it with poms in my hands. has anyone on here had to do this before? were you able to get it? what did you do to get better??


any comments would be much appreciated. =]

We've done a leg holds a few times with poms. One way was to just tranfer the poms from the hand that you'll be grabbing your leg with to the other hand (if you're doing a side extension) Or for a front leg hold, we wrapped the right wrist/arm around the ankel, and the left below (between the knee and the ankel i don't remember for sure). Basically just wrapping instead of grabbing with fingers. This is the only way i know. We just kicked our right leg up and wrapped- it worked quite well. Let me know how it goes, and hit me up if this doesn't make sense!

we have to do that in our routine, what we do is grab our ankle from the back. and you hold you poms with your thumnb with it pressed up against you ankle for support.
and ya! lol it takes sum getting used to , but if u tried it i bet you could get it

you just need to practice with your poms more often. when i do leg holds with poms i don't grip with my fingers or hands, you need to be strong enough to hold it up there with only the support of your fists kind of latching in in if that makes sense at all. if this is hard for you you are either not flexible enough, not strong enough, or just don't know the right way to do it yet...and you can overcome all of those things with practice, good luck!!! :)
