It can be difficult for us to give you advice on this subject as we don't know your mom personally and each parent is a little bit different. But most parents are willing to allow their child to do something if they are really keen about it. You need to show your mom that you are.

Are you doing any other extra curricular activities like a sport, dance, music lessons. Why not ask your mom if you can do gymnastics instead. Say you are willing to drop another activity for gym. She may not mind taking you as she now doesn't have to take you to that other activity or pay for it.

Why not try asking her what you can do to let her take you. She may strike a deal with you, like if you complete all of your homework each week you can continue or something like that.

Why not even offer to help more around the house. Say "Mom if I did some extra chores around the house it would save you some time, then perhaps you could have time to take me".

Most Mom's are reasonable and when they see you are willing to do these things, they realise how keen you are to learn gymnastics and will want you to do it.

I know this may seem like a serious matter to you, but I don't think posting the exact same thing 3 times in a row on the boards is going to make people respond much faster.

As for your response, I agree with the other reponder, its hard to give advice in a situation like this. Maybe you should just make her sit down and talk with you, hear your side of it, and then listen to her side and come to an agreement.

Don't worry gymnastics will slow down a childs growth. You may hear stories of children who's growth is slowed by the sport but those are elite gymnasts. They train more than 20 hours a week when they are very young (7 or 8 years old). And by their early teen years are training 30-40 hours a week. These type of gymnasts are very rare and outstanding gymnasts who are working towards competing at the top international level.

Normal recreational or competitive gymnastics will not affect a child growth. Research has shown this is only an issue for gymnasts training more than 16 hours a week.
