I know, and as a dancer, not a gymnast it amazes me how their skills and flexiblity can cross over from Modern to Ballet, Jazz and even Disco. It actually started me thinking about Disco being kind of like rhythmic gymnastics; which is something I had never thought about before!
What I wouldn't give to be able to do that, though!

I don't know if this interests you but I know why they seem to cross over alot.
I myself am a dancer and a teacher in a small town, adn this year the gymnastics coach asked me to help out with some younger kids groups, and I started taking some gymnastics classes myself. But we got into alot of conversations and most big gyms hire choreographers, dancers, to do the dancing part of the routines. Which is why you see alot of jumps from dancing...because it is choreographed by a dancer.

While I agree that a lot of the jumps are choreographed by dancers, that's not always the case. Certain leaps in rhythmic routines are elements that have to be performed and not just in there because they're pretty. My daughter takes ballet as well as RG and the majority of the girls can't even do their own leaps correctly or with as much height as my daughter. Yes ok I'm a little biased, but it's true.
my 2 cents
