^The link she provided only showed a couple spins from what I could see so what is your point?
Those particular spins were on 1 foot. There are other spins that are taught on 2.
Just like my link showed numerous spins, some on 1 some on 2.
I never once disagreed that there are spins taught on 1 foot. I am simply stating that there are spins taught on 2 as well. These spins are especially popular amongst beginner skaters. I feel that there is no reason discourage or belittle the OP for learning these spins. I am happy that she is enjoying skating and making accomplishments.

I also hope she is enjoying her skating but was just pointing out that we do not learn to spin on two feet

If you read one of her replies she just said herself she did a dance spin on her blades
Others have also pointed out that spins are taught on one foot

Seeing as I myself ice skate I think I have more experience than some one who has not done ....but each to their own
I speak from experience and not from searching the web to prove a point and just trying to cause argument

This is going way off topic but still it will probably be locked

^ I actually didn't say that I did a dance spin on my blades...Read it carefully:

I've been dancing for awhile, and so with teaching myself to spin,it was kind of like doing a multiple rotation turn in ballet.

What I meant was I applied the concept of keeping my body tight while rotating, not that I just took some random turn and did it on ice.

I don't really feel that anyone has tried to cause arguement, just tried to assist the OP in her goals and defend her. The proof I provided is legitimate, you have provided none. It doesn't matter anyway because other skaters have said there are spins done on two feet. Whose to say that your word is superior to theirs? They are taught and they are done on 2 feet and on 1 foot. Maybe you do not teach them personally and that is your decision and your curriculum, but to say the they are never taught that way is a little far fetched especially when there is proof otherwise. Why accuse a recreational skater who skates in her backyard of doing something you feel is incorrect? There is no need. Are you ever going to teach her? Highly unlikely.
I think the right thing to do here is to be supportive and glad that a girl is enjoying skating.
Good luck SunshineFace! Have you attempted any new skills?

You mentioned you are from UK. Well, you should probably educate yourself a little more about how skating is actually taught in UK before you make such strong statements - one cannot pass Skate UK level 5 without being able to do a 1-revolution (at least) spin on two feet : sloughleisure.com . . .

Your posts sound more like you are a hormonal teenager than a mature adult.

Tumblebug - I haven't tried anything else yet as I want to get better at my current skills first.

re renatele
Hi thanks for putting the link to the group tuition at slough Ice arena
Seems they have a spinny thing in there now
As this is for group tuition of classes up to 60 skaters we do not have anything to do with them as they are overseen and controlled by the professional staff at each rink
So do not have to keep up to date with them at all

Re sunshineFace hope you are still enjoying what you are doing and also your ballet as that is very usuful for skaters for choreography
