So, the sticky on salutes says

We welcome salutes of all formats (pointe, pets, face), but only the face salute will earn an icon since salutes are used as a way to identify people.

So say I post a salute of my feet from the knee down and my hands holding a "Luthien@DDN" sign. Does that mean I can post pictures if they're only from my legs from the knee down?

Hm, don´t know. At least you CANNOT post in photos members then, because this only works when you have the eye. And you will not get an eye for this.
But what about a body salute for you?

Did the body salutes ever really get implemented? I would like to do a body salute and send it to the mods, but I don't really know how to go about it.

Yes, many people have their eye with a bodysalute.
You simply take a normal salute photo WITH face, but mail this picture to the mods. So only they can see it. And then you post a salute with your whole body and a blurred face in the salutes board.

I got my eye with a body salute. I posted a body salute on the salute board (my whole body with my face blacked out) and I took another salute that was just my face and emailed it to the mods. The email address is moderators@dance.net I really hope that it's okay I posted it here.
