i need help on these two techniques, are there pointers that can help me get these techniques easier? i know i will have to work hard for it but i want a proper way too so i don't spend all of my time trying to practice and end up doing the techniques in an "wrong" way. thanks! 7 Replies to split/switch leap and fouettes |

Hey everyone!! Okay, here is some help. For switch leaps:
sashae(spelling?? I know it is wrong!!!) longer and faster, and keep your legs spread apart like a split would be in the air. To achieve this goal, stretch ALOT.
Fouettes:
First, practice by plieing (spelling???) with your leg out right in front of you. Rondashaun (again, sorry!!!! ) en lair, and keep to the side and relieve your supporting leg to reach your leg higher in the air. Now try this only spinning. Also watch some good youtube videos, they have MANY MANY Of them!!!!!

for switch leaps do you mean the ones where you brush forward with one foot a little in front of you then switch it to the back? For those try not brush too much and when you bring it to the back really make sure to concentrate on getting the front leg up. hope this helps! |

For Switch leaps, you'll need to get a good height and that only comes from muscular strength and a deep plié, so keep working on your relevés and other exercises to really get your body working.
Remember to warm up your hips and if you'd like, you can try the switching part just for getting the coordination and then get to the whole thing, remember to do the switch fast and keep your core steady so your body won't twist.
As for fouettés, they come a long way from ron de jambes, work on your turn out, and keep your center. Try to do them at the barre first, so you can practice on getting the swinging part down without falling
and then you can try them on the center, try asking your teacher for some pointers as fouette turns are taught differently all around the globe
keep working hard !! n__n |

fouette TURNS. You're talking about fouette TURNS. Fouettes are something different. They're not turns at all. |
