Cheerleading Being Cheerleader In "Grease" For School Production- Advice Needed. en>fr fr>en By BackFlic Comments: 91, member since Fri Dec 22, 2006On Mon Mar 05, 2007 02:12 PM
Any advice is welcome feel free to ask questions if i haven't explained properly.
I auditioned for Grease at school and got a part of a cheerleader. Our group of 6 is now split with 3 people wanting to do body rolls and lots of stuff involving hips whereas the other half (including me) want to do "more traditional moves" with arms in the air. None of us have any cheerleading experience and I am the only person in our group with gymnastic experience and with 6 of us tumbling etc is out of the question.
This is where I need your advice; is it a better idea to do the first option (body rolls), the second option (arms) or a mixture of both. I'm worried that if we do the first option it will start to look like a striptease...
Just to let you know we will most likely have pom poms if we get our own way but they will probably be childish pom poms not proper ones. 2 Replies to Being Cheerleader In "Grease" For School Production- Advice Needed. |

Grease was set in the 1950s... do you think body rolls would fit in with that image? I don't think so. |

i agree. it needs to look believable...you are ACTING like they would have in that time period. body rolls would be a definite no and arms would be a yes with minor jumping up and down. cheerleaders were very peepy and were all about supporting the school by cheering, not so much doing flashy things with their bodies. |
