1. Band camp is a week of maybe more during the summer where the band and color guard practice and prepare their half time show for the football games and competitions. The entire band, color guard, and other dance teams or whatever your school has get together to learn the show and practice practice practice.
2. sorry I'm not sure what you are trying to refer to...
3. Try not to move you upper body, stay upright with good posture looking up. Bend your knees, somewhere between doing a lunge (kneeling with one knee on the ground) and standing straight- this will help you to take longer steps to cover more ground. Run in a straight line, do not sway side to side with each step you take. And try to keep your arms by your sides if you dont have any equipment, so dont swing them.
4. Pre camp is before band camp. Extra practice so when you get to band camp you have an idea of what you are doing and you have less drill to learn. It also prepares you so you know what to bring, when to show up, and you might write out your drill spots on note cards to have at camp so you know exactly where to go on each set of counts.
5. once again sorry I'm not sure what you are refering to, but I'll try to guess. The things you stick on the ends of the pole are called bolts. The flag itself is called the silk. And the pole is well just the pole.
hope I was of some help.... |

For the under hand position...do you mean on a flag, like when you are about to toss it? If so its just grabbing the pole with your right hand in your thumb joint, like between the thumb and pointer finger with your palm facing up. My guard calls this money hand because its like you are asking for money...lol |

Our Guard calls the butts- but they are also known as cane tips or stoppers. |

^The butt is the big end of the rifle. Has nothing to do with a flag. Whether your talking about the stopper itself or the end position on the pole, it's generally just called "the tip". Although if you said "the stopper" anyone would know what you meant. But if you called it "the butt" they'd look at you like you had 10 heads. |
