I must say a word about the Maybelline Great Lash mascara. I had heard many great reviews about it, so I thought I'd try it out; but when I put it on, it would come off on my skin every time I blinked (and I was careful to remove excess). I was so exasperated with it I only used it a couple of times, then threw it away.

I know you said not to, but I only apply mascara to my top lashes. In my opinion, it looks more natural, but maybe I can get away with it because I have thick black lashes anyway. I suppose if someone had really thin light brown lashes, applying say black mascara to only their top lashes might look a bit odd.

mascara sure can be tricky...I hate that after a while it dries out and gets all lumpy then you have to go and buy more

How about adding info about mascaras that vibrate? With a battery. They are really great. =]

I have such a problem with mascara so i am going to read these pages &pages of advice as soon as i have time, think it will be most helpfull.

Personally I have very long dark eyelashes, and I use Maybelline Volum' Express,(non-waterproof version). I strongly reccommend this mascara, it gives you volume, length and thickness, and it doesnt give clumps as the brush has fine bristles. This is an amazing mascara and when i spend more time on applying it my lashes touch my eyebrows. Honestly the best mascara ever.
