If you could attend a one-full-day cheerleading & dance clinic, what are things you would like to go over or learn or help you improve with - whether you cheer for you school or competitions or will be trying out for a new team or just learning?
Would you enjoy being taught by professional cheerleaders who cheered and competed during high school and college? 9 Replies to Cheerleading Clinics - What would you like to see? |

What I would like is for 'Cheeracise' to address my initial concers about the saftey, or lack there of, expressed by their video in this thread www.dance.net . . . .
I would also like to know if Cheeracise plans to enforcing any saftey standards this time around at their camps? |

you've obviously never seen a Cheeracise DVD whether for cheerleading or dance fitness and know nothing about Cheeracise. Cheeracise teaches fitness and dance. We have yet to hold any camps or clinics so please talk about only things you are knowledgeable on. You should not bash things you know nothing about. |

Cheeracise 'Cheer Like a Pro' is an award winning instructional cheerdance DVD for cheerleaders. It's a good idea to watch something before giving it a review. |

I'm sorry, but you can't just ask for opinions and then totally bash someone who's just giving you what you asked for (and yes, I'm talking to you Cheeracise).
Regardless of the "camps" comments, the first point put forward by Hollieerin is relevant, ie it's an opinion that was asked for. Just because you are award-winning doesn't mean people aren't allowed to disagree with the work you're doing. Personal opinion, yo... |

it's okay to comment on the work being if they know what work is being done. But if you've never seen the video or been to a clinic (that has yet to happen), how do you know whether or not we address safety? |

How do you know that Hollieerin didn't watch the video?
How are you SO SURE that the safety question was asked in relation to the video, and not just a question in general? (I get asked all the time about safety regulations at my work, even by people who haven't taken class there yet - it's just something people like to know. It's not ALWAYS meant as an accusation) |

if she would have seen the video, there would be no need to ask that question. so she was referring to the video specifically.

by stating 'this time around' - has she been to a previous camp which would be impossible since we have yet to hold any.
by the way, we are in pre-production for a new dvd that focuses on the proper fitness to strengthen the body so cheerleaders are more prepared for routines and lessen the potential of injuries.
overall - cheeracise instructs cheerdancing - we're not involved in stunting as we feel it's irresponsible to teach stunting on a dvd which could lead to cheerleaders trying this at home without proper safety precautions. |

'Proper fitness' SHOULD include safety. 'Cheerdancing' SHOULD include safety. |

I was under the impression, and maybe I'm wrong here, but I thought Cheeracise was more of an aerobic type video. Every aerobic video that I have seen gives some type of speech regarding safety at the beginning and I'm sure Cheeracise is no different. It is a FITNESS video, correct? Not a video teaching actual cheerleading right? If this is correct than Cheeracise doesn't have to address safety regarding the actual sport of cheerleading. Its not a coaches or athletes education video is it? My husband is a 7th degree black belt and he cannot stand those Billy Banks Tae Bo videos. He is constantly complaining they do not teach proper technique and I am constantly reminding him it is a FITNESS video not a video to learn kickboxing.

I do not feel that the original post anything to do with a DVD or video. They asked a question. No video or dvd mentioned. You may not like a product that the OP makes or what not, but I think the OP is being picked on here. They are trying to be a member and ask a question. Once again, NO DVD WAS MENTIONED IN THE ORIGINAL QUESTION. |
