Hi everyone,

I'm new to these forums and to dancing in general pretty much. I am extremely keen in taking up either ballet or contemporary. Which one would you all recommend? Is it true that it is impossible to become a good ballerina if you haven't been doing ballet for at least 10 years? I am 22 now..so will be starting very late. I only did ballet when i was around 8 years old for about 2 years and that's it.

I heard that it is easier to become a good contemporary dancer than it is a ballet dancer. So i just wondered what all your opinions were. I was also thinking of jazz..but im not really sure what that's like either. As you can see, i don't know much about dance. But i would like to put together a dance or routine rather than simply learning the steps and not putting the steps together..which i believe is what you do in ballet.

I was also keen to know which dance school you would all recommend? That has true beginner adult classes? I live in Glenelg and i saw Prestige dance academy in the yellow pages..but it has no website or email link. Does anyone know anything about this school?

Thanks so much to anyone that can help :)
